‘CS:GO’ Modding Duo Create Flag-Based Kart Game Mode

A group of modders have created a kart game mode in Valve’s popular team shooter. counter strike global offensive (CS: GO).

Released today (Aug 29), the mod is available to download directly from Steam here.

Dubbed a “vehicular capture-the-flag game mode for counter strike global offensive”, players can fire rockets at opponents, jump, and do an air strike to capture and secure flags (via point esports).

Take a look at a short clip of CS:GO Kart of the self-proclaimed “two random guys” below.

A red and blue team will need to navigate the map, as seen in the video above, to get to the other teams’ base and steal their flag, in typical capture-the-flag fashion.

The mod was developed by Dieter Stassen and Luke Millanta, with Milanta saying point esports:: “Instead of playing as soldiers/humans, you take the form of a go-kart that shoots rockets. From here, each team fights to capture the other team’s flag and return it to their base.

“Every time they do this, they get a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. Throughout the map, there are speed boosts, ammo (rockets), teleporters, and medkits/health boosts.”

“Steam Deck represents the first in a new category of Steam gaming handheld PCs,” the brochure reads. “In the future, Valve will follow up on this product with hardware and software improvements and iterations, and bring new versions of the Steam Deck to market. Like the original and all PCs, these future products will continue to provide access to the same catalog of Steam games that gamers already know and love.”
