Volition’s Saints Row reboot is here, bringing with it a welcome return to some of the most ridiculous open-world action you can get in a video game.

From the streets of the city of Santo Ileso to the arid desert, there’s plenty to do in this year’s reboot. If you’re wondering what kind of crazy things you can do, here’s a small sample.

Bunnyhop to the top in insurance fraud

Saints Row brings back one of the best mini-games from previous games in the series. Insurance Fraud sees you throwing yourself around like a rag doll to hurt yourself as much as possible within a specific time limit (and earning a massive amount of insurance cash in the process). It’s also better than ever at this year’s restart, thanks to larger open areas and more parking lots to use.

Jumping into exploding cars is easily one of the most fun (and crazy) things to do in the game, further proving that Santo Ileso is the (insurance) playground of your dreams.

Hit the ranges and do some flips in your vehicle of choice.

Control of your vehicle while in the air has been refined in Saints Row, giving you unprecedented control over how you’d like to move in the air. This allows for some of the most ridiculous maneuvers you’re likely to see in a vehicle, and there’s a specific range in Santo Ileso that’s full of ramps to play around with the new movement options. Make a barrel roll, as they say (you’ll also get an achievement for it).

Make use of the tow rope

One of the vehicle customization options that you can equip in Saints Row is a tow cable. This allows you to cling to just about anything breakable in the world of Holy Unharmed, so why not grab a portaloo and take it for a spin? Things, as you can imagine, can get pretty hectic when you have a bunch of junk behind you, and it’s a lot of fun to pick up some momentum and attack oncoming enemies.

It’s basically like Fast and Furious, with less Vin Diesel but the same family.

Dress up… or dress down

The sheer amount of customization on offer in Saints Row is pretty mind-boggling. You can customize almost every part of your look, from the way your nose curves to the color of the shoes you’re wearing. Heck, you can even go for an out-of-this-world cosplay-style look if you really want to. Who said you can’t follow your dreams?

Seriously speaking, in Saints Row you have a lot of freedom to express yourself. And it’s really amazing to fully immerse yourself in that fantasy if you want to. Do you want to be the Wicked Witch of Santo Ileso? Go for it. And while she’s at it, she can also equip her vehicle and her weapons to match that style.

Go from car to wingsuit…just because.

One thing that I really liked about Saints Row is the challenges that the game presents you with. Completing these challenges unlocks a few little bonuses for your weapon or vehicle of choice, but none felt happier than driving at high speeds, jumping out of my vehicle, and then blasting through the streets.

Saints Row Wingsuit

Saints Row is all about the little chaos you cause by messing around with the tools on offer, and the wingsuit in this year’s reboot really comes in handy. You can also bounce off people as you roam the streets in a wingsuit, giving you more air time. Use it to your advantage to pounce on unsuspecting enemies and take them out in true style.

Volition has done a great job of providing the perfect setting for the chaos in this year’s Saints Row. There is so much to see, do and experience that you are bound to run into some crazy events while touring Santo Ileso.
