Genshin Impact Map Leak Reveals How Huge Sumeru Is

A new Genshin Impact leak reveals the entire massive map of Sumeru, including parts of the desert that are expected to arrive in the future.

Genshin Impact Version 3.0 has officially arrived, which means players finally have the option to explore a portion of the new Sumeru region. The new nation has also introduced the long-awaited Dendro element to the combat system, which will have a significant impact on the game’s character meta.

Even though the 3.0 update unlocked a large chunk of the map, players are still eagerly awaiting to find out just how big the entire Sumeru region really is. A new publication in the popular Genshin Impact The Leaks subReddit has apparently revealed an image showing the full map of Sumeru.

At the moment, the only playable parts of Sumeru are the rainforests that are connected to Chasm. The leak reveals that the entire Sumeru region could be larger than Mondstadt and Liyue combined, making it the largest nation in the game so far. However, it should be noted that Mondstadt has not yet received its expansion to the north. Developer HoYoverse has introduced an interesting pattern of adding a major new region piece by piece over many updates, meaning the entire Sumeru region could be unlocked in a couple of months.

Multiple answers in the comments section claim that the Sumeru desert parts could be coming in the next Genshin Impact version 3.1, which is expected to drop around September 28, at least based on the most recent livestream event. The game’s official social media accounts have already revealed three new characters that will join the playable roster in update 3.1. Some of these characters like Cyno are inspired by the traditional clothing of Ancient Egypt, which means that HoYoverse could present the first part of the deserts next to him.

Recent leaks have been hinting that Cyno will be a new Genshin Impact dps character. One of Sumeru’s promotional videos has confirmed that Cyno will be a new user of Electro polearms, just like the popular Raiden Shogun. When it comes to his playstyle, credible leaks have hinted that he is very similar to two strong DPS characters, Razor and Xiao.

A large part of the community seems surprised that none of the characters coming in the 3.1 update will be using the Dendro item. This means that players will have to continue to rely on Tighnari, Collei, and the new version of the Traveler for Dendro app. The new element has introduced numerous new elemental reactions to Genshin Impact meaning players should probably have at least one Dendro character on their team.

Genshin Impact It is available now for mobile devices, PC, PS4 and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
