Halo Infinite co-op campaign Forge delayed until winter

infinity haloHalo’s co-op campaign is still officially delayed, much to the disappointment, if not necessarily surprise, of Halo fans. 343 Industries set November 8, when the game’s winter update period begins (instead of multiplayer season 3), as the new goal for the co-op campaign, in a revised post-launch roadmap shared Thursday. .

Also, split-screen co-op play is canceled entirely. Originally promised in 2017, before infinity halo even had a name, creative director Joseph Staten said that 343 “would take the resources that we would use in [split-screen co-op] and go after this list and all these other things”, which is coming in the winter update.

343’s latest content roadmap, which was released at the end of April, targeted August for the release of the co-op campaign, a feature that had already been delayed beyond the game’s November 2021 release, along with the Forge map editor.

The co-op campaign got a beta this summer, ending in early August, which also tested the mission replay feature promised for the game’s campaign mode. But, also in July, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that the cooperative campaign, when it arrives, will not have matchmaking support.

infinity halo‘s Forge mode should now be in beta during the winter update period; no window was given for its full release. That said, Staten indicated that the beta would start on November 8 in a discussion streamed Thursday on YouTube. “Releasing the Forge beta on November 8, along with the winter update, is a huge priority,” Staten said.

Also delayed: season 3 of infinity halomultiplayer of . Again, in April, 343 Industries had flipped back to November for the start of that season. It will now run from March 7 to June 27, 2023. However, two new maps will still be added to multiplayer in the winter update: Detachment and Argyle, both built with Forge, Staten said.
