MultiVersus Characters Will Focus On Existing Warner Bros Intellectual Property Such As Godzilla

With many leaks seemingly revealing unreleased and upcoming characters for the MultiVersus list, fans are looking forward to seeing their favorites appear in the free-to-play fighting game. However, those hoping for the likes of Breaking Bad’s Gustavo Fring or Halo’s Master Chief will be disappointed, as MultiVersus is focusing first on IPs owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.

Could some of the “leaked” MultiVersus characters be added to the game?

MultiVersus is meant to be a long-lasting game-as-a-service that has an ever-expanding roster. Warner Bros. Games boss David Haddad told Axios that Player First Games’ “attention and focus” for new characters joining the game’s roster will be on existing WB Discovery intellectual property. As such, those hoping to see characters from Sony Pictures Television’s Breaking Bad, such as Walter White or Gus Fring, Stranger Things’ Eleven or Microsoft’s Halo will be disappointed as they likely won’t be included anytime soon.

There are plenty of leaked characters that could be coming to the game according to Dot Esports. What you may notice that all of these leaked MultiVersus characters have in common is that they are based on Warner Bros IPs. There is not a single leaked character that is not based on a Warner Bros IP. There is a possibility that several of these characters have been discarded and no longer appear in the game, while others may be alternate skins for existing characters. For now, the list includes:

  • beetle juice
  • Ben 10
  • craig of the creek
  • The Joker (DC Comics)
  • Nubia (DC Comics)
  • Poison Ivy (DC Comics)
  • Raven (DC Comics)
  • Static Shock (DC Comics)
  • Fred Flintstone
