Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless: Price
The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless, which has a suggested retail price of $349.95 / £300 / AU$549.95, was released on August 9, 2022.
Sennheiser completely changed its design for the Momentum 4 from what it had used since the first model. The Momentum 4’s mainly plastic ear cups can now be folded up for storage or hung around the neck.
Before placing them in their carrying case, the headphones no longer fold in on themselves. Instead, the headband is wrapped in woven fabric on the outside. The ear pads are still made of softer leather with plenty of padding.
Rotating hinges provide some flexibility in positioning the headset on your head, and a slider fit is provided on the headband. Also, wider than usual, the headband relieves pressure on the head.
To turn the device on or off, there is only one button on the right earbud. Instead, tap the controls to control playback, calls, and voice assistants on the right earcup.
Also, the noise cancellation and transparency modes can be strengthened by pinching and then moving your fingers in or out on the touchpad.
The Momentum 4 Wireless can sound a bit reserved and introverted at low volume levels. But as seems to be the case with many wireless headphones, turning up the volume makes them more conspicuous. The Sennheisers sound balanced and precise once the volume is found.
The Momentum 4 Wireless is tuned to deliver music with high levels of clarity and detail, while embracing a neutral tone and expansive soundstage that’s slightly wider and taller than the WH-1000XM4.
Settings on the Momentum 4 can be accessed via Sennheiser’s Smart Control app, just like with other recent audio gear from the company. Here, dedicated EQ sliders for Bass, Middle, and Treble let you fine-tune the sound and save any customizations you want as presets.
Sennheiser offers a call-related tool called Sidetone. You can hear a part of your voice through a slider, causing you to yell during conversations. It’s not an all-or-nothing setting because you can adjust it between 0 and 100 percent.
The Sennheiser Smart Control app is your convenient, clear and simple entry point to EQ presets and adjustments, as well as Adaptive ANC, which includes a slider to customize the amount of extraneous noise you want to remove Transparency, which allows Ambient sounds come in keeping you aware of ambient sounds, like traffic for example.
The inclusion of “Sound Zones” is one of the most innovative in this. With Momentum 4 Wireless, you can create up to 20 profiles with different levels of equalization and noise isolation. Additionally, these profiles can be automatically turned on or off when you enter or leave a particular “zone”.
