Almost 10 years ago one of the best games of all time was released. This week, Naughty Dog’s seminal game, The Last of Us: Part Iis released again, this time rebuilt for a new generation of consoles and a new wave of gamers.
Will it have the same impact it had in 2013? Probably not. But during my time with him, I have still found a number of reasons The Last of Us: Part I worth playing (or in my case, replaying).
The best of The Last of Us: Part I on PS5
The Last of Us: Part I looks great
As with any new console, a huge focus is on visual enhancements and there’s no denying there’s a stark contrast between The last of us on PS3 and on PS5. The game has always looked good, but on the PS5 it really stands out.
Landscapes are more impressive, character expressions are more nuanced, and even the smallest details stand out. From spore particles floating in the air to ripple effects in water, The Last of Us: Part I expands on the groundbreaking visuals that Naughty Dog featured in their 2013 classic.
I can honestly say that I have never paused a game more often to take screenshots than with this one.
ELEPHANT it is a cinematic game in every sense of the word and this version is, without a doubt, the best ever seen.
Deeper immersion into a game is something the PS5 has been able to achieve through well thought out accessories. The 3D audio capabilities and DualSense controller are a huge selling point of the new console and with every new game it’s always exciting to see a developer take advantage of these new features.
as someone who has played ELEPHANT many times before I’m pretty familiar with all its nooks and crannies, so the new audio and controller feel were some of the only things that surprised me during my gameplay, and they did.
At one point in the game, I watched a single empty can roll down a hill and heard it clatter through my soundscape as if it were actually traveling through my living room. Sometimes it would make Joel stand up in the rain just to feel the little pattering sensation of the drops sliding down the controller.
It’s all the little things here that add up to an experience so immersive that it made a new game of The Last of Us: Part I feel worth it.
When The Last of Us: Part II it was released in 2020 and received high praise for its great set of accessibility features. Now The Last of Us: Part I it has also been rebuilt with these features, making it playable for a whole new party for the first time.
Harnessing the power of the PS5 and the functionality of its controller, The Last of Us: Part I It offers a number of cool features, like descriptive audio cinematics and dialogue that rumbles through DualSense’s haptic feedback. There are also fully customizable controls, allowing gamers to lay out their button layout however they wish.
These accessibility options may not justify the price for the average gamer, but they do make a world of difference for those who can now experience The last of us for the first time.
It’s good for new fans and big fans.
When it comes to thinking about who this game is rebuilt for, I can identify two main groups: new players and die-hard fans.
I am not going to waste time insisting on the history of TLOU: Part I here. If you’re a returning player, you already know how good it is, and if you’re new, you’re better off experiencing it without context.
That experience hasn’t changed and the bottom line is that it’s still one of the essential PlayStation games. For those who haven’t played The Last of Us: Part I before, this is the best way to do it.
It’s also the most expensive, but the value you place on your own gaming experience is ultimately up to you.
For returning players who already own a copy of the game, there is no need to shell out another $100. Unless, like me, you’re a huge fan of his.
The combination of enhanced visuals and state-of-the-art features that reinforce the cinematic and emotional experience of the game make this the definitive version of The Last of Us: Part I that did not fail to absorb me completely once again.
If you are a fan of The last of us No price is likely to be too high to get more out of this world and this is a refreshing way that will only reinforce your love of the game and its characters.
It’s the perfect way to prepare for the TV series.
Next year The last of us will be presented to the world in yet another completely new way with the launch of the HBO television series.
If you’re a new player hoping to get your homework done before the show ends, or someone who wants to brush up on the story, TLOU: Part I the launch comes at the perfect time.
From what we’ve seen so far, HBO The last of us It seems to be a very faithful adaptation of the Naughty Dog game. Therefore, experiencing the most up-to-date version of the game is the ideal way to prepare for the series to follow.
When it comes down The Last of Us: Part I It’s not a cheap buy, but the combination of visual enhancements, accessibility features, and audio and controller improvements can make it worth it for die-hard fans and new gamers alike.
The Last of Us: Part I is available on PS5 now.
